Middle East Presents An Evening of Piano, Turntables and Storytelling Kid
Koala Thursday, March 13, 2003 (All photos from the 7:00 show) This evening was designed to facilitate the perfect FIRST DATE! Everyone was well entertained by Kid Koala and his crew, with a night of piano, turntable and storytelling, in a setting very different from how you may have seen him before. Kid Koala's show involved two electric pianos, four turntables and a slide projector in support of his book "Nufonia Must Fall". Pieces from the bookÕs soundtrack were recreated with the accompaniment of DJ P-Love. Kid Koala presented scenes from the book with the aid of some old-school technology, including a crank-driven Victrola! The night had a few surprises to help you get to know the bookÕs characters, including Bingo! DJ Jester started the night off with a little dinner music to help everyone get their flirt-on, and if things didnÕt work out with that 'special someone' by the end of the night, DJ P-LoveÕs mix of break-up music surely helped you get through it, as well as the inspired love-sick robot in "Nufonia Must Fall"! Kid Koala and the gang stuck around after the show to autograph books and ham it up for the camera with Megatron - check out the pictures below!
